Our blockchain project LegalThings One is the result of a six year entrepreneurial journey. Started in 2012 as the online notary service FIRM24, which developed towards the white label contract & process manager spin-off LegalThings, we now offer organizations our cutting-edge blockchain solution.
Currently incorporated in McKinsey’s ScaleUpNation project, our 20 employee strong Amsterdam-based team is dedicated to lead the organizational blockchain revolution with our scalable and easily integratable solution.
LegalThings started in 2015 as a platform to digitize agreements. Rather than just generating text and automating signing, we focused on the logic within a contract. This allowed companies can run their in- and external business processes much more efficient.
Early 2016 we were the first in Europe to add proof of existence (using the Bitcoin blockchain) in our application for the documents being signed / agreed. By doing so we introduced the blockchain to organizations, showing it was useful for more than digital currency.
In 2017 we introduced LiveContracts; A platform to model agreements in such a way that they are easily understandable for both computers and humans. Breaking down a process in these understandable pieces has the added benefit that some parts (those considered simple and safe enough) can be executed by computers that have no or very basic AI. Other parts can be left to human interpretation.
LegalThings One removes the layers of bureaucracy, while preventing fraud and nepotism that plague so many organizations, industries and governments in a secure and hyper efficient way with blockchain technology.
In 2018 we are supplying various international operating real estate companies to streamline their processes and documents. Currently implementing parties such as Yardi & Planon. Later this year, these SaaS clients wil be 'forked' onto our Protocol-as-a-Service.
For the Do-It-Yourself operators and developers we created the LegalThings One Community Node (LTO CN). It’s the world’s first decentralized workflow engine. It enables parties to integrate blockchain into their own application with a plug and play solution.
LegalThings One is used by two Dutch Ministries and multinationals like DEKRA, Heineken and Euronext.
