Barbara A. Knoflach has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive & Global Head of Investment Management of BNP Paribas Real Estate (BNPP RE) on 1st August 2015.
In her role she is responsible for defining the strategy for the Investment Management business line and leading its effective execution through almost 300 employees in eight countries: France, Italy, Germany, United-Kingdom, Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
From 2005 to 2015, Barbara A. Knoflach was CEO of SEB Asset Management AG. Before that, she was appointed Managing Director of the investment company SEB Investment GmbH in June 1999. Under her leadership, total Assets under Management grew from EUR 2 billion to over EUR 12 billion as of the end of 2013.
Knoflach has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, covering all aspects of the business including transactions, re-development, leasing, capital markets and financing.
She joined SEB Bank 1994, where she played a key role in establishing the closed-end Real Estate Fund and Real Estate Leasing areas in the first few years. In 1997, she was appointed as Managing Director of the fund management companies.
After finishing her business administration studies in 1986, she began her career in Deutsche Bank AG’s International Project Financing unit in Frankfurt am Main. In 1991, she switched within Deutsche Bank Group to the Consulting and Research department of the bank’s real estate subsidiary.
Barbara Knoflach is involved in numerous associations and organizations in the real estate industry. She was a Board Member of AFIRE. Furthermore, she is a Member of the Executive Committee of ZIA (Zentraler Immobilien Ausschuss e.V) and a Trustee Member of ULI. She is also Chairman of the Advisory Board for CREA® (Certified Real Estate Investment Analyst) which she initiated together with IREBS Immobilienakademie and DVFA.
